In August of 2022 I drove to the Alps to run a trail race in Chamonix. The week before I stayed in a remote chalet on the side of a mountain valley. I thought it was going to be idyllic. It was beautiful but it was an unexpectedly grim experience. I couldn't sleep, felt anxious. That feeling came back to me the following year after some personal trauma. However whilst staying in the chalet I explored the area and recorded the sound of cows, water and streams on my iPhone, which became the basis of the EP. I then improvised music over the top and it started to take form, slowly.

So this music is kind of about me trying to make sense of the initial, then subsequent emotional experience, all woven into the field recordings. Or, it could be about anything you want I guess.
